I didn't find my voice until my forties. Before that, I was caught in a cycle of people-pleasing, shifting myself to fit whatever role I was in.
A health scare led me back home. I changed careers, reconnected with family I had never met, and somewhere in that unraveling, I rediscovered poetry—and my own voice.
